Chapter 01 · Inward

Meditation

By Aurita

Stillness is not the absence of thought — it is the art of watching it pass. This course takes you from your first five minutes of silence to a deep, anchored daily practice, one breath at a time.

The story of this chapter

Most of us have never been taught how to be still. We were taught to read, to write, to compete — but never how to sit with our own mind. So when we finally close our eyes, the noise feels louder than ever, and we conclude that meditation is “not for us.”

This course begins exactly there — with the noisy, restless, completely normal mind — and walks with it patiently. No forcing, no fighting. Just a clear, step-by-step path from restlessness to rhythm, from rhythm to stillness, from stillness to home.

Curriculum

What you will practise

Arriving: posture, breath & the first five minutes

Set up a sitting practice that your body actually enjoys — seat, spine, hands, eyes — and learn the simple opening sequence that tells your nervous system: it is safe to slow down.

The wandering mind: training attention without force

Why the mind wanders, why that is not failure, and the gentle technique of returning — the single skill on which all meditation rests.

Breath as anchor: pranayama foundations

Slow, measured breathing practices that steady the heart and quiet the senses, preparing the ground for deeper silence.

Deepening: body scan, mantra & silent sitting

Three classical doorways into depth. Discover which one your temperament responds to and build your sitting time naturally.

Meditation in motion: carrying stillness into your day

Walking, eating, listening, working — turning ordinary moments into practice, so the calm you find on the cushion follows you everywhere.

Questions, answered

Before you begin

I can't stop my thoughts. Can I still meditate?
Yes — that is exactly who this course is for. Meditation is not stopping thought; it is changing your relationship with thought. The wandering mind is the training ground, not the obstacle.
How much time do I need every day?
Begin with ten minutes. The course is built around short, consistent practice — consistency transforms far more than duration.
Do I need any spiritual background?
None at all. The practices are universal. Whatever your belief or background, breath and attention work the same way.
